Before joining AMP I was completely overwhelmed and burnt out. I honestly, did not like going to my office. I knew I needed help but not even sure where to start. I kept trying out other coaches which always was a complete waste of money as they did not provide any actual practical help in running a business, just fluff. It was really frustrating to feel alone. I was doing everything myself in my practice, except for having a virtual assistant who helped answer the phones and scheduling. Unknowingly, missing many calls but I always thought "I could not afford to hire a staff person."
I was kind of in desperation mode, so whenever a patient wanted to come in I would see them so I was working 9am-7pm 4-5 days a week. My clinic had 4 rooms but I could not even visualize how I could even see more than 2 patients per hour. I also live in an insurance-dominated and acupuncturist-saturated state so I "thought that was the only way to do it" was to take insurance. So I was in-network in all insurances. It was so frustrating to me why patients would only do their "12 visits" then leave, always showed up late or no-show, and really did not respect me or my clinic. I was putting SO much energy out to serve them but they were not putting in the effort for their health. I had no time to do any outside hobbies because I was so mentally and physically exhausted.
Now I actually have a life! I worked to create a clinic that worked for me. I work the hours that work for me and the days I want to work, creating a practice filled with compliant patients that don't care that I am out of network.
It feels freeing to be able to have a successful clinic and then have time to do other things in my life that are not related to my business. I have energy, enjoy going to work, feel more confident than ever, and feel proud that I am raising the bar in my profession.
The biggest advantage of being part of AMP is nearly immediate support for any concern. They are like the brain and I am the body, what they say, I do. Having coaches who are practitioners themselves with successful practices that were formed from their AMP principles, and implementing what they teach is the key to AMP success.
It is invaluable to be able to call them if something comes up, "How should I handle this?", "I have a consult coming in with this, what do you think the best approach is", "My staff is doing this how should I handle it."...anything they have your back. AMP is personal development, practice management, mindset, getting your money right, and leveling up life coaching, all in one.
I had a vision for my clinic of being cash based doing comprehensive plans, in an office that was in a professional high-end building, with staff support and working less hours so I could actually practice self-care and do hobbies I loved. I really thought it was just a dream and is almost why I quit because I did not think those things were possible, especially in an insurance dominated and acupuncture-saturated state.
Being in AMP, they first helped me fix key leaks in my practice, major leaks, then helped me with my confidence that was holding me back and pushed me to take improv classes which helped me really step into my role as the doctor-doctor.
Then we strategically set a plan on how and when to start dropping insurances, helping me to hire the right staff. Most importantly I had a huge unexpected emergency in my practice right when I was in a growth phase, and having to close my office due to mold with no office to go to, so I literally shut down and started over. I was closed for 2 months and they helped me strategize how to handle it, discuss what new offices were available and helped me make key decisions in my practice going forward.
Without their help in being able to think like a business owner, and having my back when I needed support, it would have been impossible and the old me would have just quit. AMP helped me with my new phase of my clinic being in a dream office that allows for growth, having support, clear marketing plans, and now being 100% cash and seeing more patients in less time while making more money than before (and actually paying myself!). AMP is the reason I love my practice again! It is FUN now!
